GENDER AND DEVELOPMENT database

A project of the Provincial Government of Occidental Mindoro, the Occidental Mindoro Gender and Development (GAD) Database serves as the foundation of all the gender-responsive planning, programming, and policy formulation.

The Gender and Development Database aims to provide valuable insights into the relationship between gender and development within the province. By collecting and analyzing data across key sectors—Social Development, Economic Development, Infrastructure, Environmental, Institutional, and Gender Mainstreaming—the database seeks to highlight gender disparities and identify opportunities for inclusive growth.

About Us

According to the DILG-BLDG’s Guide on the Review and Endorsement of LGUs’ GAD Plan and Budget and Review of LGUs’ GAD Accomplishment Report, one of the institutional mechanisms to monitor and evaluate LGU compliance amongst municipalities is the establishment of an LGU GAD Database. This is also being supported through Memorandum Circular No. 2005-01 in compliance to Executive Order 348 as well RA 7192 or “Women in Development and Nation Building Act”.

As stated in the mentioned Memorandum Circular, “In the pursuit of developing guidelines to strengthen the functionality of GAD Focal Points, there is a need to establish a database of such focal points. The data/information will serve as inputs in determining the kind of interventions to women empowerment and gender equality at the local level. The DILG in coordination with the National Commission on the Role of Filipino Women (NCRFW) shall establish and maintain the database of LGUs GAD Focal points.”

CAFMID Guidelines

The Provincial Government of Occidental Mindoro launched the Conditional Augmentation Fund for Municipal Initiated Projects (CAFMIP) Program in FY 2020.

The CAFMIP Program intends to provide motivation and sense of appreciation to the LGUs for their efforts in accomplishing their mandated tasks and activities through provision of additional resources for their priority projects. The program carried out a socialized sharing scheme that foster the "those who have less should have more" principle.

The Program served as an avenue for unity among and between the municipalities and the province by setting aside their differences to be co-participants in providing basic services to their constituents.
